Hyper Island Creative Task

Problem
With more than 59 million refugees worldwide; we indeed need more innovation when it comes to supporting individuals and families fleeing from persecution and conflict zones. The reason why we don’t see more innovative and/or creative solutions by policymakers is simple: You do not win any votes by tackling this subject. We need to do it ourselves.

Insights
When refugees enter a hostcountry and ask for asylum, the real agony begins. Waiting can take forever. It’s crowded in the refugeecenters and there’s almost nothing else to do there than to wait;

Working is not permitted, as they haven’t been granted asylum yet. Learning the new language is difficult, given the meagre means you get and gettting to know the culture by socialising and mingling with the citizens is difficult due to a two-way working bias, produced by the media.

Refugees are often distressed, traumatized and bereft of all posessions. And it’s not easy for the receiving cities either, ass they are ill prepared and ill advised on the matter.

Solution
Bridge the bias-gap and give both parties the tools to interact with one another and to develop oneself through a single program and app.
